FAQ
Is this a clinical diagnostic tool?
No. Neurology in Gradient Biotech is a research and exploratory analysis workspace. Outputs must not be used for clinical decision-making or neurological diagnosis. Interpretations include explicit research disclaimers.
Do I need MATLAB, SPM, or EEGLAB installed locally?
No. Upload files through the web UI and the platform handles analysis. Reference MATLAB toolboxes (BCT, CONN, EEGLAB) inform the underlying algorithms but you never need to run them yourself.
Graph metrics failed — what should I check?
- Matrix is square and numeric
- No NaN or Inf values
- File format matches extension (CSV, NPZ, MAT)
- Matrix is reasonably sized (very large matrices may take longer or time out)
Open the failed run's detail page for the specific error message.
NBS is disabled — why?
NBS requires:
- At least two group labels assigned to connectivity matrix datasets
- Multiple datasets per group (minimum depends on pipeline configuration)
- Completed matrix uploads with valid dimensions across subjects
Assign groups on the Cohort analysis page first.
EEG features button is disabled — why?
Complete Preprocess EEG first. Features depend on the preprocessed recording artifact.
Interpret returns an error
Confirm a completed metrics run exists as input for the interpretation you're trying to generate. If the error persists, AI interpretation may not be enabled for your workspace — ask your administrator.
How do I compare patient vs control groups?
- Upload connectivity matrices for all subjects
- Open Cohort analysis and assign group labels
- Run Batch graph metrics
- Run NBS for edge-level differences
- Use Compare cohort metrics for global graph measure comparison
